Rumours linking Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif to Prabhas-starrer Spirit have been dismissed, with an industry source categorically denying reports that the actress has joined the cast of director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming action drama.
Speculation had intensified in recent days, with several media reports claiming Katrina would make her acting comeback opposite Prabhas in the highly anticipated film. The reports also suggested the project would mark her return to Telugu cinema after nearly two decades, generating excitement among fans.
However, a well-placed industry source has rejected the claims, describing them as “completely inaccurate and misleading.”
“There is absolutely no truth to the claims being made about Katrina Kaif’s future acting plans. The report is based entirely on speculation and misinformation, with no verification,” the source said, effectively putting an end to the rumours for now.
Katrina has been away from the big screen since her last theatrical release, Merry Christmas (2024), in which she starred alongside Vijay Sethupathi. Interest in her next project has remained high following the announcement of her pregnancy in September 2025 and the birth of her son two months later.
Meanwhile, Spirit has consistently made headlines since its announcement, with frequent speculation over its cast. Earlier reports had linked Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan to key roles in the film, though those claims were never officially confirmed.
The project also attracted attention after reports emerged that Deepika Padukone had exited the film following alleged differences over remuneration and working conditions. Actress Triptii Dimri, who previously worked with Vanga in the blockbuster Animal, was subsequently brought on board as the female lead, according to industry reports.
Besides Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, Spirit also features Vivek Oberoi in a pivotal role. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the action drama is among the most anticipated Indian films currently in production and is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 5, 2027.
While fans continue to speculate about Katrina Kaif’s return to acting, there has been no official announcement regarding her next film project.
