Detectives of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday arrested Md. Nazrul Islam, general secretary of the banned Awami League’s Satkhira district unit, from the capital’s Bashundhara residential area.
DMP Additional Commissioner (DB) Shafiqul Islam said Nazrul was detained from his residence around noon in connection with multiple cases filed against him.
Police officials confirmed that further legal proceedings against the accused are currently underway.
