A court in Khulna on Monday sentenced three people to death for the 2018 murder of a man in Batiaghata upazila.
Judge Md Khurshid Alam of the Khulna Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-4 delivered the verdict.
The condemned convicts are A Salam, son of Kalam Box; Khurshid Alam, 35; and Khairul Sheikh, 28, sons of Salam Sheikh from Jhalbari village.
According to the prosecution, Rezaul Sheikh of the same village was beaten to death by four individuals on March 31, 2018, following a dispute stemming from prior enmity.
The victim’s younger brother, Mezbah Uddin, filed a case with Batiaghata Police Station on the same day, naming four accused.
Police submitted the charge sheet on September 11, 2019.
The court acquitted one of the accused, citing insufficient evidence to prove the charges against him.
