Dhaka: The Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi has urged the expatriated Bangladeshis in UAE not be worried about sudden residency visa cancellation.
The embassy in a statement on Monday said it is aware that many Bangladeshi nationals who are currently outside the United Arab Emirates—either on leave or for other reasons—have found their residence visas unexpectedly cancelled without any explanation. The situation has caused anxiety among expatriates holding UAE residency permits.
The embassy assured expatriates that it is actively working on the matter. It said diplomatic communication has already been initiated with the relevant UAE authorities to obtain accurate information and official guidance regarding the issue.
The statement added that efforts are ongoing to determine whether the cancellations are the result of a technical error or are linked to any specific reason. The embassy also emphasized that the Government of Bangladesh, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, is fully informed and closely monitoring the situation.
The embassy said it will promptly inform Bangladeshi expatriates once verified information is received and coordinated with the government.
The notice also warned expatriates against misinformation circulating on social media. It said some individuals have been spreading false and incomplete information by misusing the Bangladesh government’s logo, official symbols, national flag, and even the embassy’s email address. The embassy urged expatriates not to share unverified content and to rely only on information released through official sources.
Finally, the embassy called on Bangladeshi expatriates to remain calm, act responsibly, and continue complying with the laws and regulations of both Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates.
