Marvel fans in Bangladesh are set for an early treat as “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, the latest installment in the blockbuster superhero franchise, will hit local cinemas on July 30—a day ahead of its international release on July 31.
The highly anticipated film will be screened at Star Cineplex, giving Bangladeshi audiences the chance to watch the movie before viewers in the United States and many other countries.
Produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Studios, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the fourth standalone Spider-Man movie. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who takes over the franchise following the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed nearly $2 billion worldwide.
Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, alongside Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson and Jacob Batalon as Peter’s loyal friend Ned Leeds. Mark Ruffalo also reprises his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk.
The new chapter introduces several notable additions to the cast. Eman Esfandi, best known for Ahsoka, plays MJ’s new boyfriend, while Stranger Things star Sadie Sink joins the MCU in a mysterious role that has been kept under wraps. Another major highlight for Marvel fans is the return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, better known as The Punisher. The film also features Michael Mando as Mac Gargan, also known as Scorpion.
The story follows the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the world—including MJ and Ned—has forgotten Peter Parker’s identity. Four years later, Peter continues protecting New York City as Spider-Man while teaming up with the Punisher to confront Scorpion and other dangerous villains. The film also explores the evolution of Spider-Man’s powers, introducing new challenges for the iconic superhero.
Ahead of its release, Spider-Man: Brand New Day made a star-studded world premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, where early audience reactions praised its action sequences, emotional storytelling and performances.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton said the secrecy surrounding Sadie Sink’s character was intentional, adding that audiences would better appreciate the film without knowing too much in advance.
With strong early buzz and one of Marvel’s most popular heroes returning to the big screen, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to be one of the year’s biggest superhero releases, and Bangladeshi moviegoers will be among the first in the world to experience it.
