Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 503 individuals and filed 30 cases during coordinated anti-crime drives across the capital on Tuesday.
According to a DMP press release, the highest number of arrests was made in Mirpur Division with 122 detainees, followed by Motijheel (82), Tejgaon (74), Uttara (69), Wari (41), Gulshan (38), Lalbagh (35), and Ramna (34). The Detective Branch (DB) arrested an additional eight suspects.
During the operations, law enforcers seized 107 kilograms of cannabis, 25 yaba tablets, gold ornaments weighing over eight bhori, nine mobile phones, and two used motorcycles. Police also rescued one victim during the operation.
The arrests were made as part of routine raids conducted across multiple thana areas aimed at curbing crime in the capital.
Police said legal proceedings against those detained are currently underway.
