A delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami attended a reception marking the 99th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, expressing hope for stronger bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China.
The event was held on Wednesday evening at the Chinese Embassy, where officials, diplomats, political leaders, retired military officers, senior government representatives, and civil society members from various countries attended.
The five-member Jamaat delegation was led by the party’s Secretary General and former MP Mia Golam Parwar.
Other members included MP Barrister Najibur Rahman Momen, MP Colonel (Retd) Abdul Baten, MP Mosleh Uddin Farid, and Ali Ahmad Mabroor, a member of the opposition leader’s foreign affairs advisory committee.
During the programme, Mia Golam Parwar conveyed greetings and congratulations to Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and opposition leader Dr Shafiqur Rahman.
The delegation wished China’s government and people continued peace, prosperity, and development, while expressing optimism that Bangladesh-China trade and diplomatic relations would become stronger and more meaningful in the future.
