Dhaka University (DU) will begin accepting online applications for undergraduate admissions for the 2026–27 academic session on November 11, with the application deadline set for 11:59 pm on November 25.
The admission schedule was approved at a meeting of the university’s General Admission Committee held on Sunday at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof ABM Obaidul Islam.
The university will conduct admission tests under five units: Arts, Law and Social Sciences; Science; Business Studies; Fine Arts; and IBA.
According to the schedule, the IBA Unit admission test will be held on December 5, followed by the Science Unit on December 12, Arts, Law and Social Sciences Unit on December 19, Fine Arts Unit (General Knowledge and Drawing) on December 22, and the Business Studies Unit on December 26.
Except for the IBA Unit, all admission tests will be held from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. The IBA Unit examination will run from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Admission tests for the Arts, Law and Social Sciences, Science, and Business Studies units will be held simultaneously in eight divisional cities: Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Khulna University, Barishal University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University (Mymensingh), and Begum Rokeya University.
The Fine Arts and IBA unit examinations will be held only in Dhaka.
The committee also decided that classes for the 2026–27 academic session will begin on March 28, 2027.
The meeting was attended by Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Prof Abdus Salam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof Mohammad Al-Mojadded Al-Fesani, Treasurer Prof M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, along with deans, department chairpersons, institute directors, provosts and other university officials.
