Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed on Monday said the Awami League, whose activities are currently banned, lacks the capacity to carry out acts of sabotage ahead of August 5.
He also urged the public not to panic over the recent recovery of explosives in different parts of the country.
Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat, Salahuddin Ahmed said there was no reason for public concern regarding the recent bomb recovery incidents.
He alleged that “a vested group” is attempting to undermine communal harmony and create instability in the country.
Responding to a question about the recovery of a bag containing explosives in Ashulia, the home minister said the matter remains under investigation and that detailed information would be disclosed after the probe is completed.
