Mobile operator Robi Axiata Limited has recorded strong business growth over the past four years, posting a 20 percent increase in subscribers and a 50 percent rise in profit before tax (PBT), driven by network expansion, digital adoption and continued investment in technology.

The company also reported a 44 percent increase in data revenue during the period, while nearly 79 percent of its subscribers now use mobile internet services. Of them, 91 percent are connected through its 4G network.

The operational highlights were shared at a press conference held at Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka on Tuesday. The event featured presentations by Robi Chief Financial Officer Ruhul Amin and Chief Executive Officer Ziad Shatara, while Company Secretary Shahed Alam moderated the session.

Shatara attributed the company’s growth to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into its network, continuous infrastructure upgrades, improved customer service and the commitment of its employees.

“Our primary goal is to ensure customer satisfaction, and we will continue investing in advanced technologies to deliver better services,” he said.

He noted that Robi has carried out one of the fastest network expansion programmes in Bangladesh’s telecom sector over the past five years. Around 75 percent of the company’s network modernisation has already been completed, while work in the Chattogram region is expected to be finished by the end of this year.

Referring to the company’s performance in the first half of 2026, Shatara said Robi achieved positive market growth despite slower expansion in the country’s overall telecom industry. He credited the company’s performance to improved network quality, enhanced customer care and the dedication of its workforce.

The CEO also said around 44 percent of Robi customers now use digital channels to recharge mobile accounts, purchase data packages and access other services, making the customer experience faster and more convenient.

Reaffirming Robi’s long-term commitment to Bangladesh, Shatara said the company will continue investing in technology and infrastructure to support the country’s digital transformation and economic growth. He added that Robi aims to remain a trusted partner in Bangladesh’s development journey.
