Dhaka: Information Adviser to the Prime Minister, Dr. Jahed Ur Rahman, has warned that legal action will be taken against anyone who broadcasts or publishes the speech of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in violation of a court order.
He said implementing court directives is the government’s constitutional responsibility.
Speaking at a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday (August 4), Dr. Jahed said that if Sheikh Hasina, who is currently abroad, delivers a speech on August 5, broadcasting or publishing it through the media or any other platform would amount to a violation of the court’s order. He added that the government would take the necessary legal measures against those responsible.
“If someone announces in advance that she will speak tomorrow and publishes that content, it will certainly be a violation of the court’s ruling. We will take action in this matter,” he said.
