The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by rain across several parts of the country, including Dhaka, with moderate to heavy rainfall likely in isolated areas over the next few days.
According to the forecast issued on Wednesday, many places in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and a few places in the Dhaka and Khulna divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds.
The Met Office said some parts of the country could receive moderately heavy to heavy rainfall, while day and night temperatures are likely to fall slightly nationwide.
For the 24-hour period beginning at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, rain is expected in many places across the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. The BMD has also forecast moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places during this period.
From 6:00 pm Thursday to the following 24 hours, many areas in the Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, along with a few places in the remaining divisions, are likely to receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers. Daytime temperatures may increase slightly across the country.
The weather pattern is expected to remain largely unchanged during the 24-hour period from Friday evening, with temperatures likely to remain stable.
For the 24 hours from 6:00 pm Saturday, many places in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and a few places elsewhere in the country, may experience rain or thundershowers. Both day and night temperatures are expected to rise slightly across Bangladesh.
