Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday met Mitu, an injured fighter of the July mass uprising, during the inauguration ceremony of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum in the capital.
Despite still undergoing treatment, Mitu travelled directly from hospital to attend the programme marking July Mass Uprising Day at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
The Prime Minister warmly invited Mitu to join him and enquired about his health, the progress of his treatment and rehabilitation. He also praised Mitu’s courage and sacrifice during the July uprising.
Earlier, Tarique Rahman formally inaugurated the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum before attending a discussion titled “July 36.”
Mitu, who sustained injuries during the July 2024 uprising and remains under medical care, was among the invited guests at the event. His determination to attend the ceremony directly from his hospital bed drew admiration from those present.
The interaction between the Prime Minister and the injured uprising fighter created an emotional atmosphere at the event, with attendees paying tribute to the sacrifices made by those injured during the movement.
