Senior Reporter of The Daily Observer Muhammad Yeasin has been elected president of the Law Reporters Forum (LRF), while Senior Reporter of Bangladesh Pratidin Arafat Munna was elected general secretary for the 2026-27 term.
The election results were announced on Friday afternoon by Chief Election Commissioner Ilias Hossain at the South Hall of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
The newly elected executive committee also includes Abu Saleh Rony as vice-president, Tanvir Ahmed as joint secretary, Monjur Hossain as treasurer, Ahmed Al Amin as organising secretary, Mahmudul Alam as office secretary, and Zahidul Bashar as publicity and publication secretary.
Jannatul Ferdousi and Asadur Rahman were elected executive members.
The post of general secretary was the only position contested in the election. Arafat Munna defeated his rival through direct voting by LRF members.
The election commission also included Mashhudul Haque and journalist Sajedul Haque as election commissioners.
