Dhaka: The air quality in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka remains at a ‘moderate’ or ‘acceptable’ level today. Meanwhile, Kampala, Uganda, tops the list of cities with ‘unhealthy’ air quality.
The information was reported on Sunday (August 9) based on the Air Quality Index (IQAir), an air-quality monitoring platform.
Dhaka’s air quality has remained at a moderate level for several consecutive days. The capital ranked 15th on the published list of cities with air pollution today. Dhaka recorded an air pollution score of 95, indicating that its air quality is ‘moderate’ or ‘acceptable.’
According to IQAir’s standards, an air quality index score between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good.’ A score of 51 to 100 is classified as ‘moderate’ or ‘acceptable,’ while 101 to 150 is considered ‘unhealthy for sensitive groups.’ Scores between 151 and 200 are classified as ‘unhealthy.’
An AQI score of 201 to 300 is considered ‘very unhealthy,’ while a score above 301 is classified as ‘hazardous.’
