The new commuter train service on the Dhaka-Gopalganj route will begin operations on Monday (August 10), marking the introduction of a direct rail connection between the capital and Gopalganj.
Named Abhijatri Commuter, the service will operate under train numbers 136 and 135, according to Bangladesh Railway.
The inaugural service will depart Dhaka at 2:30pm and reach Gopalganj at 6:45pm. The return train will leave Gopalganj at 7:25pm and arrive in Dhaka at 10:25pm.
The train will run six days a week, with Saturday as the weekly off day.
It will serve several stations along the route, including Keraniganj, Srinagar, Mawa, Shibchar, Bhanga Junction, Nagarkanda, Maheshpur and Kashiani Junction.
