Iran has accused the United States of being a key driver of instability in the Middle East, saying the region does not need external powers to ensure its security.
Speaking at a news conference, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said reliance on Washington has created a false sense of security.
“The region must not be left under the illusion of achieving security through America; America is part of the lack of security in the region,” he stated.
Baghaei argued that US policies have enabled Israel to carry out military actions without facing consequences. He said Washington provides both political and security support, allowing Israel to act with “impunity.”
“The Americans are supporting the Zionist entity politically and on the security level; without the Americans, the Zionist entity would not be able to continue its actions,” he added.
He further claimed that such backing shields Israel from accountability, saying no one is able to effectively challenge or prosecute its actions on the international stage.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the region and ongoing criticism from Tehran over US involvement in Middle Eastern affairs.
