Bangladesh High Performance (HP) team secured a commanding victory over Malaysia, powered by a blistering 19-ball fifty from opener Jisan Alam, sealing the two-match T20 series 2-0.
Batting first after winning the toss at Mirpur, Malaysia struggled to build momentum despite a brief recovery. They lost two early wickets for just 19 runs before Syed Aziz and Ahmed Aqil put together a 58-run partnership for the third wicket — their only notable contribution in the match.
Aziz scored 40 off 52 balls, while Aqil added 30 from 33 deliveries, both falling to Abu Hider. Malaysia managed to play the full 20 overs but could only post a modest total of 105 for 4.
In reply, Bangladesh HP chased down the target in just 7.4 overs, losing three wickets along the way. The highlight of the innings was Jisan Alam’s explosive batting, as he smashed an unbeaten 57 off just 21 balls, including two fours and seven sixes.
His rapid half-century came off only 19 balls, putting Malaysia’s bowlers under immense pressure and effectively ending the contest early. Fellow opener Jawad Abrar also contributed a quick 23 off 8 balls.
With this emphatic win, Bangladesh HP wrapped up the T20 series convincingly. The teams are set to face off next in a three-match ODI series, with the first game scheduled to be held at the Bashundhara Sports Complex.
