Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker on Monday stressed the potential for expanding cooperation between Türkiye and Austria across a range of sectors.
The remarks came during a joint press conference in Ankara following talks between Erdogan and Stocker, who was visiting Türkiye for the first time since taking office as chancellor.
Erdogan said the two leaders discussed bilateral relations in detail, along with Türkiye-EU ties and key regional and global developments.
“Türkiye and Austria have significant potential for cooperation in green energy, critical minerals, high technology, transportation and defense industries,” Erdogan said.
Stocker said the countries’ strong economic and social ties provide a solid foundation for closer cooperation. He also pointed to further opportunities to strengthen economic relations, particularly through cross-border railway projects.
