Authorities have recovered 1.37 acres of government-owned land in Natore district that had allegedly remained under illegal occupation for 35 years. The property is currently valued at around Tk14 crore.

The land, located near a homeopathic college in the South Chowkir Par area of Natore town, was reclaimed on Monday afternoon in a joint operation led by Natore Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md Azahar Ali and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Farhad Hossain.

The authorities recovered the property from an individual named Mohsin Ali and placed red boundary markers and a signboard declaring the government’s ownership around the site.

According to the Assistant Commissioner (Land), the property was recorded as government-owned khas land under Khatian No. 1. It had gradually turned into a pond and remained occupied for decades.

Following its recovery, the authorities said the land, classified as sairat khas property, will be reclassified and subsequently leased out through the government according to applicable rules.
