The Regional SME Product Fair-2026 will be held at the Nazrul Village premises in Rajshahi from September 12, offering small and medium entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase and sell their products, expand their markets and build new business connections.
The Small and Medium Enterprise Foundation (SME Foundation), under the Ministry of Industries, is organising the fair in cooperation with the Rajshahi District Administration.
A preparatory meeting was held at the conference room of the District Administration on Monday to discuss arrangements for ensuring the smooth organisation of the fair.
Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam chaired the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the deputy commissioner said the SME sector is one of the major driving forces of Bangladesh’s economy.
He said SME fairs play an important role in promoting locally produced goods, expanding markets and encouraging new entrepreneurs.
He urged government departments, institutions and business organisations concerned to work together to make the fair successful.
The fair will also help promote Rajshahi’s traditional and potential products across the country, while giving local entrepreneurs opportunities to explore new markets and develop business networks, he said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sabur Ali said preparations were underway to ensure the successful organisation of the fair.
He called on all concerned to perform their responsibilities properly, particularly in stall management, security, publicity, visitor services and overall event management.
Umme Fatima, chief executive officer of Rajshahi Zila Parishad; Abu Sayeed, manager of SME Foundation; Liakat Ali, president of the Bangladesh Silk Industry Owners Association; Ziauddin Ahmed, director of the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce; and representatives of various government departments and institutions attended the meeting.
The organisers expect the fair to provide local SMEs with greater exposure and help entrepreneurs connect with consumers, traders and potential business partners from across the country.
