Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport is hosting “Imperial Flavors of China”, a week-long celebration of Chinese cuisine, culture and heritage from August 13 to 19.
The dinner buffet, being held at the hotel’s Mosaic restaurant, features a wide selection of traditional Chinese delicacies, Asian-inspired dishes and desserts curated by the hotel’s culinary team.
Among the featured Chinese desserts and delicacies are Ma Lai Go, Jian Dui (sesame balls), classic Chinese egg tarts, traditional mooncakes, Eight-Treasure Rice Pudding (Ba Bao Fan), almond jelly with lychee and Chinese banana fritters.
The buffet also includes Asian favourites such as Thai sweet coconut sticky rice with mango, coconut tapioca pudding with mango and pomelo, and five-spice chocolate chiffon cake.
The week-long celebration will go beyond food, with Dragon Dance performances and other traditional Chinese cultural showcases planned throughout the festival to offer guests an immersive experience of China’s culture and heritage.
The festival was inaugurated by Sun Xin, Station Manager of Air China, marking the start of the culinary and cultural celebration.
Ashwani Nayar, Area General Manager, IHG Southwest Asia and Cluster General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport and InterContinental Dhaka Airport, said the festival was designed as more than a dining experience.
“Imperial Flavors of China is more than a dinner buffet; it is a celebration of Chinese cuisine, culture and heritage,” he said, adding that the hotel had brought together authentic flavours, traditional delicacies and cultural performances for guests.
US-Bangla Airlines, the airline partner of the festival, will offer one round-trip air ticket from Dhaka to Guangzhou and back, adding a travel component to the celebration.
NCC Bank is the banking partner of the event. Guests can also avail themselves of a special Dine 4, Pay 1 offer using selected cards from NCC Bank, BRAC Bank, Dhaka Bank, Midland Bank and other participating banks, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
