Four more children died with measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh in the 24 hours to 8am Friday, although none of the deceased had been confirmed to have measles.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) measles surveillance report issued Friday, 972 children developed measles-like symptoms during the period.
The report said the number of children who have died with measles-like symptoms since March 15 has reached 795. During the same period, 99 children died after testing positive for measles, bringing the total number of deaths to 894.
DGHS data showed that 141,048 children have developed measles-like symptoms since March 15. Of them, 122,794 were hospitalised, while 118,540 have recovered and been discharged.
The health authorities have confirmed measles in 17,730 children since March 15.
