Bangladesh have created history with a memorable Test victory over Australia in Darwin. Najmul Hossain Shanto’s side defeated the hosts in four days in the first Test to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
After the historic victory, Bangladesh captain Shanto said the triumph would rank above all of the country’s previous cricketing achievements.
“Across all formats, this is the biggest win in Bangladesh cricket history so far. We believe we can achieve something new in the future as well,” Shanto said.
Bangladesh dominated Australia in all departments, with their pace attack and disciplined batting from both the top and lower order playing key roles in the victory.
Shanto said he was extremely proud of himself and the entire team for their performance.
“I am truly very happy and extremely proud of myself and the whole team. We have worked very hard, and it feels great to achieve a victory like this,” he said.
