Storms, rain forecast in Dhaka, 12 other districts

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds of up to 60 kilometres per hour in Dhaka and 12 other districts on Monday.

According to a weather warning issued for the country’s inland river ports, temporary gusty or squally winds, with speeds of 45–60 km/h, may sweep across Rajshahi, Pabna, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar.

The winds may blow from the south or southeast, followed by rain or thundershowers.

The warning, issued from 5am to 1pm on Monday, also asked river ports in the affected areas to display warning signal No. 1.
