Arguments have concluded in the July uprising murder case against seven senior Awami League leaders, including its former general secretary Obaidul Quader, with the International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) reserving the case for judgment.
The tribunal passed the order on Monday after both sides completed their arguments. The verdict may now be delivered on any day.
The seven accused are former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader; former Awami League joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim; former state minister for information and broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat; Jubo League chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and general secretary Mainul Hossain Khan; and former Bangladesh Chhatra League president Saddam Hossain and general secretary Sheikh Wali Asif.
The case accuses the seven of involvement in attacks on protesters, killings and crimes against humanity during the July mass uprising.
All seven accused are currently absconding, according to the case proceedings.
