Two snakes were spotted at Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat, on Monday, coinciding with Nag Panchami.
House staff reportedly spotted the snakes in the bungalow’s lawn and alerted security personnel, who contacted a snake rescue team.
According to Hindustan Times, a rescuer received a call around 8pm and was informed that two snakes had been seen inside the property. The team then searched the lawn and surrounding areas.
After an extensive search, one snake was found hiding beneath a staircase and safely rescued. The nearly eight-foot-long reptile was identified as an Indian rat snake, a non-venomous species.
However, the second snake could not be located. Rescuers believe it may have moved away after people began searching the area. It remains unclear whether it is still hiding somewhere inside Mannat or has left the premises.
The search continued late into the night, but the second snake was not found. Staff and security personnel were relieved to learn that the rescued snake was non-venomous, although the whereabouts of the other snake remained unknown.
Mannat, located in Mumbai’s sea-facing Bandra area, is a major attraction for Shah Rukh’s fans, who regularly gather outside the residence. The actor often greets fans from the balcony on occasions such as his birthday and Eid.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is set to appear next in director Siddharth Anand’s action film King, alongside his daughter Suhana Khan. Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji are also part of the cast.
