Storms of up to 60kmph expected in five regions

Storms accompanied by rain or thunderstorms are expected in five regions of Bangladesh, with gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometres per hour, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

The affected regions are Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar. Winds from the south or southeast may reach 45–60 kmph, accompanied by temporary rain or thunderstorms.

The forecast is valid from 5am to 1pm on Wednesday (August 26). In view of the weather conditions, river ports in the affected areas have been advised to display local cautionary signal No. 1.
