The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) on Thursday showed former National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) director general Ziaul Ahsan arrested in a case over the alleged enforced disappearance of incumbent Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.
A three-member tribunal headed by Justice Md Golam Martuza Majumder passed the order after allowing a prosecution petition seeking to show Ziaul Ahsan arrested in the case.
The tribunal also set October 27 for submission of the investigation report.
Salahuddin Ahmed filed a complaint with the International Crimes Tribunal on June 3, 2025, accusing seven people, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, of involvement in his alleged enforced disappearance in 2015.
The other accused are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal; former inspectors general of police AKM Shahidul Haque and Benazir Ahmed; former DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia; and former chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of police Monirul Islam.
Ziaul Ahsan, who previously headed the NTMC, is among those named in the complaint.
The tribunal’s latest order came as proceedings continue into the allegations surrounding Salahuddin’s disappearance.
