India’s cricket team may tour Bangladesh in January next year, according to Indian news agency ANI, as uncertainty continues over the previously scheduled white-ball series in September.
A BCCI source told ANI that the India-Bangladesh series is likely to be held in January, while discussions with the Indian government are still ongoing. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is also looking for a suitable window early next year.
The series was originally scheduled for August 2025 but was later postponed to September 2026. The BCB had announced that India would play three ODIs and three T20Is in Dhaka and Chattogram.
However, the BCCI has yet to make any official announcement regarding the tour.
BCB President Tamim Iqbal recently said discussions between the two boards were ongoing and that the dates could change.
India last toured Bangladesh in 2022. The two countries’ cricketing ties later came under strain following political developments in Bangladesh, with security concerns contributing to the postponement of the scheduled series.
Despite renewed efforts to improve relations, uncertainty remains over whether the series will take place in September or be shifted to January.
