Saudi road crash claims Faridpur youth

A Bangladeshi migrant worker from Faridpur, Mohammad Abu Bakar Siddiqui Shakil, 32, was killed in a road accident in Saudi Arabia.

Shakil, a former student of Faridpur High School, was a permanent resident of Bhati Lakshmipur in Faridpur city.

According to local residents and family members, Shakil died in a road accident on August 26 while returning from work in Saudi Arabia. He had been scheduled to return to Bangladesh in December this year.

His sudden death before his planned homecoming has plunged his family and community into mourning. He is survived by his mother, wife, two children and other relatives and well-wishers.

Arrangements are currently underway to complete the legal procedures required to repatriate his body to Bangladesh.

His death has also cast a pall of grief over former students of Faridpur High School, as well as his family and local community.

Classmates and relatives have asked people to pray for the eternal peace of his departed soul.

Faridpur Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mahmudul Hasan said police would assist the family with verifying the necessary legal information and provide all possible government support to bring Shakil’s body back to Bangladesh as soon as possible.
