Foreign-made gun recovered from Narail

Police have recovered an abandoned foreign-made single-barrel gun from a mahogany orchard in Kalia upazila of Narail.

The firearm was recovered from the mahogany orchard of Shahin Sheikh in Raghunathpur village on Sunday evening, said Idris Ali, officer-in-charge of Kalia Police Station.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid at the orchard and found the gun wrapped in a towel and left abandoned, the OC said.

Police have launched an investigation to identify who left the firearm there and determine who may be involved.

“An investigation is underway to identify those responsible and determine their involvement,” OC Idris Ali said.

Legal proceedings in connection with the recovery are also underway, he added.
