A rare display of camaraderie among Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping was seen at the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
During a group photo session on Tuesday, the three leaders smiled, held hands and greeted one another, forming a brief human chain.
A video posted by the Kremlin Pool showed the cordial moment. The Kremlin Pool captioned the video, “Strategic alignment: Russia-India-China.”
Putin held bilateral talks with Modi on Monday, while no formal meeting between Modi and Xi was scheduled.
The moment also recalled a widely discussed scene from last year’s 25th SCO summit in China, when Modi, Putin and Xi were seen holding hands and chatting for around 90 seconds after entering the summit venue.
