LPG price cut by Tk 13 for Sept

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for September.

The retail price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been cut by Tk 13 to Tk 1,585 from Tk 1,598. The new price will take effect from Wednesday evening (September 2).

In July, the same cylinder was priced at Tk 1,528 before the price was raised by Tk 70 in August. However, the July price had been reduced by Tk 357 from Tk 1,885 in the previous month.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, BERC said the retail price of privately marketed LPG has been set at Tk 132.12 per kg, effective from the evening.

The commission has also reduced the price of autogas used in vehicles to Tk 73.09 per litre from Tk 73.67. The price stood at Tk 70.40 per litre in July.

BERC reviews LPG and autogas prices every month based on international LPG prices and other related costs.

Meanwhile, the commission has set the price of LPG supplied in liquid form through the reticulated system for centrally supplied households at Tk 285.30 per cubic metre.
