Bangladesh women thrash Chinese taipei 7-0

Bangladesh made a flying start to the Under-20 Asian Hockey Championship, thrashing Chinese Taipei 7-0 on Saturday in China.

Bangladesh dominated from the opening quarter, with Kona Akter opening the scoring. Ima and Irin Akter Riya then added two goals each to put Bangladesh firmly in control.

The team stepped up the pressure in the fourth quarter, with captain Sarika Rimon scoring twice in quick succession to complete the emphatic victory.

The convincing opening-game win has given Bangladesh a major confidence boost. Irin Akter Riya was named Player of the Match.
