President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday laid the foundation stone of Thakurgaon University in the district.
He inaugurated the construction of the university at the Jamalpur Sugarcane Farm in Thakurgaon on Monday morning (September 7).
The president arrived in his home district on Sunday for a two-day visit.
It is his first visit to Thakurgaon since becoming the country’s 23rd president.
