Barcelona celebrated a seven-goal rout at Camp Nou, beating Racing Santander 7-2 in La Liga on Wednesday night.
Captain Raphinha was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick as Hansi Flick’s side extended their winning run to seven matches this season.
Joao Cancelo scored twice, while Gabriel Jesus and Lamine Yamal added one goal each.
Barcelona dominated from the start and quickly put Racing under pressure. Cancelo opened the scoring with a long-range effort that went in off the post before scoring again when his shot took a deflection off a Racing player.
Raphinha then took centre stage. He converted a penalty for his first goal before finishing from close range after a pass from Dani Olmo. He later completed his hat-trick from another penalty.
Olmo played a key role in Barcelona’s attacking moves, creating several chances and providing the assist for Raphinha’s second goal. Rodri also helped maintain the hosts’ attacking rhythm in midfield.
Yamal endured a mixed night. He missed several chances and had a penalty saved before eventually finding the net. He also hit the post and had another goal ruled out for offside.
Racing managed to score twice, exposing some weaknesses in Barcelona’s defence. Wojciech Szczesny replaced Joan Garcia in goal after halftime and conceded one goal following an error.
The defensive lapses, however, did little to affect Barcelona’s dominance as Flick’s side cruised to another emphatic victory.
