All tourist attractions in Sajek Valley have been temporarily closed until further notice due to severe weather, while the Rangamati district administration has banned travel to the hill resort to ensure public safety.

The decision was announced in an emergency public notice signed by Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Nazma Ashrafi on Tuesday evening.

According to the notice, continuous heavy rainfall across the district, coupled with the latest forecast from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, has significantly increased the risk of landslides and hill collapses. Road communication has also been disrupted in several areas.

In view of the situation, all tourist spots, waterfalls, hill trails, remote areas and other high-risk locations in Sajek Valley will remain closed from Tuesday evening until further notice. Entry to these areas has been prohibited for tourists, tour operators and the general public.

The district administration has urged people to avoid non-essential travel to Sajek until conditions improve and to follow all directives issued by the local authorities.
