Solar-powered security cameras and modern safety technologies drew strong interest on the second day of the three-day International Security Expo Bangladesh 2026, as exhibitors showcased solutions designed to ensure round-the-clock security while reducing pressure on electricity supplies.
The International Occupational Safety, Health and Fire Expo Bangladesh 2026 is also being held at the same venue at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.
A total of 47 companies from Bangladesh and abroad are showcasing products and technology solutions from 150 brands across 10 countries, including China, the UAE, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, the UK and Australia.
Leading companies such as ICC TCL, Computer City, Smart Technologies, TIPSE, Jaico, Z Sydney Sun International, Acot, Dahua and Hikvision are displaying technologies related to workplace security, occupational safety, health and fire protection.
PTZ and solar-based CCTV cameras, indoor and outdoor surveillance cameras, biometric devices and real-time attendance systems using facial recognition and fingerprints were among the attractions at the ICC TCL stall. The company is also displaying child-safety devices.
Smart Technologies has set up around 12 stalls showcasing a range of security solutions.
Alongside global brands such as Dahua and Hikvision, an AI-powered intelligent workforce management and HR solution developed by a group of students from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has also drawn attention from visitors.
Madhusudan Saha, managing director of I-Station Ltd, the organiser of the expo, said solar-based security solutions have received the strongest response from both exhibitors and visitors this year.
The expo is being organised with the support of the Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS).
Two seminars were also held on the opening day, focusing on strengthening electronic security in Bangladesh and occupational safety, firefighting and emergency preparedness.
The seminar on “Strengthening Electronic Security in Bangladesh: Challenges, Technology and Way Forward” was moderated by Safety Awareness Foundation Secretary General Zakir Uddin Ahmed.
BCS Secretary General Muhammad Monirul Islam, BUET CSE Assistant Professor Dr Chowdhury Md Rakin Haider, BRAC University CSE Professor Dr Md Khalilur Rahman, security expert and former Fire Service and Civil Defence director Major (retd) AKM Shakil Newaz, Acot Group CEO and founder Edward Kim, and TIPSE CEO Md Munirul Alam took part in the discussion.
BCS Secretary General Muhammad Monirul Islam highlighted the importance of developing Bangladesh’s electronic security sector, expanding technology-based security systems and increasing industry participation.
He said the importance of electronic and cyber security is growing alongside Bangladesh’s rapid digital transformation.
He stressed the need for coordinated initiatives involving government agencies, educational and research institutions, the technology sector and the security industry to strengthen the country’s security infrastructure.
