Saudi Arabia issues fresh alerts across several areas

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense has issued fresh warnings over a “potential danger” in several parts of the country, just minutes after lifting earlier alerts on Friday night.

According to Qatar-based Al Jazeera, the latest alerts cover the Jazan and Abha regions, as well as the governorates of Khamis Mushait, Jeddah, Taif and Yanbu.

Reuters reported that the authorities did not specify the nature of the potential danger in the alerts. Residents were urged to remain vigilant and follow safety instructions issued by the authorities.

The new warnings come amid heightened tensions involving Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi movement.

A number of similar alerts have been issued across the kingdom in recent days, including in Jeddah, Taif, Abha, Jazan and Yanbu.

Authorities have not publicly linked the latest warnings to any specific incident.
