UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said in an interview with Al Arabiya on Sunday that he strongly condemns Houthi attacks on infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
Guterres stressed the utmost importance of respecting freedom of navigation, including in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. He rejected attacks targeting Saudi ships, describing them as “totally unacceptable.”
Guterres also emphasized the utmost importance of respecting navigational rights and freedom.
Saudi Arabia had successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis toward the capital Riyadh at dawn on Saturday, the official Spokesperson of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Major General Turki al-Malki said in a statement.
The Houthis also attempted to target civilians and civilian objects in the cities of Baish, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu, the statement said adding that “these hostile attempts” were thwarted by air defense systems. Source: Al Arabiya.
