The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has assured Bangladesh of its full cooperation in developing the country’s civil aviation sector, particularly in strengthening aviation safety and security.
The assurance came in a recent letter to Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat, congratulating him on assuming office as a full minister.
ICAO Council President Toshiyuki Onuma and Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar conveyed their greetings to Millat and wished him success in his new responsibilities.
They said ICAO would continue to provide full cooperation to Bangladesh in advancing international civil aviation and ensuring safety and security in the sector.
ICAO develops international aviation standards and recommended practices and works with member states to promote the safe, secure and orderly development of civil aviation.
Its cooperation is expected to support Bangladesh’s efforts to modernise airport infrastructure and further strengthen aviation safety and security in line with international standards.
