6 senior police officers dismissed

DHAKA: The government has dismissed six senior police officers, including former Dhaka District Police Superintendent Asaduzzaman, for allegedly abandoning their posts.

The Home Ministry issued separate notifications on Monday (September 21), signed by Senior Secretary Manzur Morshed Chowdhury. The orders took effect immediately, according to the notifications.

The dismissed officers are former Police Superintendent Arifur Rahman Mondal; former Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of the Secretariat Security Branch Rajib Das; former Additional Deputy Inspector General Mohammad Zayedul Alam; former Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) Police Superintendent Mohammad Sanowar Hossain; former Additional Police Superintendent Palash Ranjan Dey; and former Dhaka District Police Superintendent Asaduzzaman.

The ministry said the officers were dismissed over allegations of abandoning their duties.
