Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain has said that unauthorised clinics operating across the country will be sealed off as part of ongoing efforts to ensure safe healthcare services.
He said the government was taking action against clinics that operate without proper approval and employ unqualified doctors or technicians with fake certificates to provide medical services, including surgeries.
“Illegal clinics will be sealed off where necessary,” the minister said, according to reports.
He added that mobile courts were being conducted regularly through district administrations and civil surgeons against illegal clinics and fake doctors.
Fines were also being imposed on establishments found violating regulations.
The minister said he was personally collecting lists of such establishments and overseeing operations against them.
Earlier, health authorities have found private clinics and diagnostic centres operating without required doctors, nurses and medical equipment, with some even conducting surgeries despite lacking basic facilities.
The government has also been conducting inspections at hospitals as part of a broader campaign to improve healthcare services and curb irregularities in the sector.
