Three people were killed and several others injured after a passenger bus collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Sreemangal of Moulvibazar.
The accident occurred in the Kalapur area on the Dhaka-Sylhet regional highway, according to local reports.
The deceased were identified as Nazma Begum, 40, her nephew Hasain Ahmed, 22, and another nephew, Fahad Ahmed, 12. They were residents of Baruna village in Kalapur Union.
The CNG-run auto-rickshaw was carrying four members of the same family from Baruna to Sreemangal town when it collided head-on with a passenger bus travelling on the Sreemangal-Sherpur route.
The auto-rickshaw was badly damaged in the crash. Fahad died at the scene, while Nazma and Hasain succumbed to their injuries after being taken to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital.
Two other people, including the auto-rickshaw driver, were injured and admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
