Registration for postal voting from within the country in the upcoming Thakurgaon-1 by-election will begin on September 27 and continue until October 8, the Election Commission (EC) said on Wednesday.
EC Director of Public Relations Md Abdul Momin Sarker said government officials and employees, as well as people assigned to election duties, will be able to register for postal voting through the Postal Vote BD app.
Under the announced election schedule, the deadline for submitting nomination papers is September 27. The nomination papers will be scrutinised on September 29, while appeals against the scrutiny will be accepted from September 30 to October 4.
The appeals will be disposed of on October 6.
The deadline for withdrawal of candidacies is October 7, while electoral symbols will be allocated to the final candidates on October 8.
If the schedule proceeds as planned, voting in the Thakurgaon-1 by-election will be held on October 29.
