US-Bangla Airlines has moved up one place to fourth in the Best Regional Airlines – South Asia category in the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, marking its third consecutive year in the ranking.
Mohammad Kamrul Islam, general manager (public relations) of US-Bangla Airlines, disclosed the information on Thursday (September 24).
He said the Bangladeshi private carrier ranked fifth in the South Asia category in both 2024 and 2025 before rising to fourth in the latest 2026 ranking.
The three consecutive years of recognition in the Skytrax regional ranking reflect the airline’s growing international visibility and continued passenger recognition, he said.
The Skytrax World Airline Awards are based on a global passenger satisfaction survey. According to Skytrax, the awards have been conducted since 1999, with passengers from around the world voting to determine winners across various airline categories.
Skytrax defines regional airlines for the awards as mainly full-service carriers operating short- and medium-haul domestic and international flights, generally of up to around six hours.
Kamrul said the three consecutive years of Skytrax recognition for a Bangladeshi private airline represented a significant reflection of the country’s capabilities in the aviation sector.
He said US-Bangla was working to make Bangladesh’s aviation sector more visible internationally by connecting the country’s air routes more effectively with international destinations, expanding its modern fleet, improving passenger services, enhancing operational efficiency and expanding its international network.
The airline’s continued recognition by Skytrax was also aligned with its future expansion plans, he said.
US-Bangla plans to expand through the introduction of next-generation aircraft, adding new international destinations, increasing flight frequencies and adopting technology-driven passenger services, Kamrul added.
