In a devastating incident in Ziarat, Balochistan, nine police officers have been martyred following an attack by terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij.
According to Pakistani media reports, the attack took place in the Kach Mangi Phase III area, a region known for its scenic beauty attracting tourists from far and wide.
Ziarat Superintendent of Police, Abdul Qadoos Dehwar, confirmed that the police officers were targeted while on duty.
Among the nine martyred were respected officers such as SHO Mangi Muhammad Hussain and SHO Kawas Sohbat Khan, whose contributions were widely admired.
The attackers, identified as part of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, engaged in a prolonged firefight with the officers.
The assault prompted an immediate and strong response from security forces sparking a comprehensive clearance operation.
In the joint operation conducted by police and other law enforcement agencies, 15 terrorists were reported killed.
The response aimed to mitigate further threats and restore stability to the area.
The term Fitna al-Khawarij is employed by the state to refer to militant factions like these.
