Four people died and six others were injured in separate incidents in the capital between Friday afternoon and midnight, according to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) authorities.

One of the deceased was a female construction worker who fell from the fifth floor of an under-construction building in Kadamtali.

The other three were unidentified people found unconscious in separate locations in Shahbagh and Demra.

The six injured were reportedly stabbed in three separate incidents in Uttara Badda, Shahbagh and Kadamtali. They were receiving treatment at DMCH.

According to the hospital police camp, the victims were brought to the hospital between Friday afternoon and midnight. The bodies were kept at the hospital morgue, while police were taking legal action over the separate incidents.

Woman worker dies after falling from building

Josna Begum, 35, died after falling through an open elevator shaft while cleaning debris at the under-construction Safa Tower on Road No. 8 of 24-Foot Road in Shanir Akhra, Kadamtali.

Her coworkers rescued her and took her to the DMCH emergency department, where doctors declared her dead.

An unidentified woman, estimated to be around 60, was found unconscious near the waiting room behind the DMCH emergency department in Shahbagh.

Hospital authorities took her to the emergency department, where doctors declared her dead. Her identity and address were not immediately known.

In another incident, an unidentified man, around 40, was found unconscious beside a road near the highway in the Paitty area of Demra. Police rescued him and took him to DMCH, where doctors declared him dead.

Another unidentified man, estimated to be 41, was found unconscious near the same waiting-room area behind the DMCH emergency department in Shahbagh. He was also declared dead after being taken to the emergency department.

In North Badda, businessman Md Fahim, 25, was allegedly stabbed by a mugger near the 100-Foot U-turn area. His family said the attacker used a locally made sharp weapon and struck him several times as he got off a bus with his parents. Fahim was receiving treatment in the emergency department.

In another incident, 17-year-old Alif was stabbed inside Ramna Park under Shahbagh Police Station. A passerby, Mehedi Hasan, said Alif, who works at a factory, suffered an injury to his right knee and was taken to DMCH.

Three others—Shoeb Ahmed, 18, Junaid Ahmed Fahim, 18, and Shanto, 16—were injured in an alleged attack by a teenage group in front of Barnamala School in Kadamtali.

Local sources said the incident may have stemmed from a previous dispute after the three victims allegedly helped police apprehend two youths, Sifat and Shaon, on suspicion of theft. A group of around 30–35 youths, allegedly armed with locally made weapons, later attacked them.

Shoeb suffered a head injury, Fahim sustained stab wounds to his right shoulder and back, while Shanto was injured in several parts of his body.

In a separate incident in Kadamtali, college student Fahad Islam Bishal, 18, was seriously injured in an alleged stabbing by a group of 8–10 youths near the Posta Icebar area. He was taken to DMCH and admitted for treatment.

Fahad is a first-year student at Sheikh Borhanuddin Post Graduate College and lives with his family in the Alambagh area of Kadamtali.

Police said investigations into the separate incidents were underway. The circumstances and motives behind the stabbing incidents had not been immediately established.
