The military chiefs of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to protecting Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The three countries’ top military commanders held an emergency meeting in Riyadh on Friday, Sept 25, amid repeated attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, reportedly involving Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Yemen, according to Al Arabiya.

The military leaders discussed ways to translate their commitments into immediate and practical defence cooperation, the report said.

Under the reported terms of the defence arrangement, an attack on any one member would be treated as an attack on all participating countries.

The Turkish and Pakistani military chiefs also praised the professionalism of Saudi Arabia’s armed forces in protecting the country and ensuring the safety of citizens and residents.

The meeting comes amid heightened regional security concerns and reflects the three countries’ focus on coordinated measures to protect Saudi Arabia and its territory.
